Explore advancements in vocational training, capacity building, and empowerment for girls and women.

Begin your tour at Tibar Vocational Training Centre, delving into their initiatives. Next, visit East Timor Development Agency (EDTA) to learn about capacity building through various key training areas. Then, visit Pro Ema, a charitable organisation dedicated to empowering adolescent girls and young women through training and education. Immerse yourself in their work and enjoy lunch at their restaurant. Return to Dili for your onward flight.

Timor-Leste is a nation of young people, with 74% of Timorese below the age of 35. This presents both opportunities and challenges, as many young people, especially women, are unprepared for work and life due to gaps in education and skills. Vocational training is helping to build a diverse and skilled future-ready workforce by reducing skill gaps through technical and vocational education.

"I was fortunate to take part in my school’s inaugural Service Learning trip to Timor-Leste, led by the team from Maddog Adventures. Every aspect of the trip was exceptional – from the individualised itinerary to the meticulous planning, excellent drivers and guides; interactions between staff and students, and high levels of risk mitigation."
