Indulge in a vibrant coffee culture brimming with young Timorese entrepreneurs.

Begin your day at Café Atsabe, tour Maun Ameta’s café and training facility, and gain insights into the privileges and challenges of growing, harvesting, and processing specialty coffee in the world’s second youngest nation. Head out of Dili to Aileu to visit Projecto Quinta Portugal, an agroforestry centre. Walk through a local coffee farm and enjoy lunch at Café Aileu, run by Maun Zen. Return to Dili for your onward flight.

Timor’s coffee exports constitute less than 1% of global coffee exports, but they are crucial, accounting for about 80% of the nation’s total exports and providing cash income for over 37% of Timorese households.

"Obrigadu (thank you) to Maddog Adventures who were the consummate professionals guiding us on our inaugural coffee origin tour to Timor-Leste. It has been inspiring to see young up and coming coffee entrepreneurs introducing new sustainable farming practices, providing employment in their communities, building new infrastructure and training facilities, running barista and coffee competitions and working with professionals in the tourism industry to drive economy, skills and a better quality of life for the Timorese."
